The Race to the Referendum

Having successfully predicted the outcome of the General Election last May, the Pennywell Miniature Pigs at Pennywell Farm in Devon are once again racing to determine BritainÕs future.

As the campaign hots up on, the pint-sized porkers are at it again with a special ÔReferendum RaceÕ to find out whether the UK should leave or remain.

Four piglets are running, spurred on by an audience representing ÔinÕ, ÔoutÕ or Ôshake it all aboutÕ for those who are still undecided. And itÕs the undecidedÕs that have it at the moment so anything could happen!

The piglets who have been named in honour of this historic occasion are, for the In Campaign, David Hameron and George Hogsbourne, while Boar-is Johnson and Iain Duncan-Sniff are hamming it up for the Out Campaign.

Nigel Forage had hoped to make an appearance but sadly he pulled a hamstring in training so wonÕt be running.

Pennywell FarmÕs owner Chris Murray says, ÒThe whole debate has become so heated, we thought it could do with an injection of fun, hence referendum pig racing.

ÒHopefully, it will be a little light relief for our visitorsÓ.

The Pennywell miniature pigs will be snout to snout and squeal to squeal at 2.30pm every afternoon up to the big day itself.

Ends
