With parents across Devon potentially facing problems with childcare on Tuesday 5th July due to the planned national teachers strike, Pennywell Farm Devon Tourist Attraction near Buckfastleigh has come up with a very special offer for one day only.
Children can bring a friend for free on the day of the strike, which Pennywell’s owner Chris Murray is hoping will go some way to helping families struggling with childcare.
“With many mothers having work commitments there is bound to be some sharing of childcare between friends and families”.

“I’m hoping that the offer will encourage those looking after someone else’s child as well as their own to come and enjoy a day out at no extra cost to them”.
Anticipating an influx of school age children on the day, the farm will also be making sure that all the activities are geared towards the curriculum, ensuring that a day off school is put to good use.
Chris added, “With a different hands on activity every half hour each child is bound to learn something new and exciting.”
While the children are enjoying their living classroom, mums will have a chance to sit back and enjoy some peace and quiet while taking in Pennywell’s breath-taking views.
Pennywell is open every day from 10am – 5pm. Details of the offer can be found at:
